Biography
Frédéric Schuld is a German-French writer, director, and co-founder of the studio Fabian&Fred. He was awarded the Wim-Wenders and Gerd-Ruge Fellowships. His animated documentaries CARLOTTA'S FACE and THE CHIMNEY SWIFT have received several international awards and qualified for the Academy Awards. He is also the co-writer and animator of the documentary hybrid LOST IN FACE by Valentin Riedl, which won the German Documentary Film Award and the Audience Award at the Max Ophüls Prize Film Festival, among others. In his current film MAMA MICRA (directed by Rebecca Bloecher, premiered at IDFA Amsterdam), Frédéric worked as co-writer, co-director, director of photography, and editor. Frédéric is currently developing his first feature-length fictional animated film, STRUWWEL (working title).
