I'm Francis, an illustrator and designer based in the Greater Los Angeles area. My work specializes in visual development, character design, prop design, and background paint.

Combining my love of film, television, illustration, and storytelling, I enjoy creating and developing unique illustrations meant to leave a lasting impression. It is my passion to capture narratives through my art, to be able to tell an impactful story imbued with heart and meaning, since without an inherent story, none of it would cease to have a purpose. And that is what I aim to achieve with my work – to give purpose to not only characters, but the objects they interact with in the world (whether it be as small as a paperclip or as big as a skyscraper), and the settings that both inhabit.

I understand how imperative each design choice is. As an artist with an initial background in traditional, a quality that I strive to carry over digitally from my traditional works is my personal style, which employs the tangibility of traditional combined with the limitless quality and flexibility of digital. A trait that I pride myself in as an artist is versatility, that I am able to design from a flat 2D to a 3D character with forms, from a stylized to a more realistic style, and I am able to adapt to whatever aesthetic that is needed of me.

In my previous position as a graphic designer, I am grateful for my experience in that field as it has provided me with the skills needed to thrive in a fast-paced environments, to take part in a collaborative workplace and get along with people from diverse backgrounds, and to push myself and test my resourcefulness when hasty problem-solving capabilities are required. I believe that my calm nature, resourcefulness, and can-do attitude allows me to play a crucial role and contribute as an asset to any team and or community.
