Biography

Elsa Yranzo is a design and research studio that uses food as a tool to think, design and transform culture.

Every project is grounded in the same conviction: food is not the outcome, but the medium. A material through which to investigate, question and open up new ways of understanding the world.

I’m Elsa Yranzo, a designer, art director, curator and researcher. From Barcelona, I lead a practice at the intersection of design, art, research and innovation.

I develop projects that turn food into a language capable of activating questions, sparking conversations and transforming the way we relate to the world. I create experiences, projects and initiatives with cultural impact, where ideas become tangible and food becomes a space for thinking.

I am the co-author of Food Design: La guía del diseño alimentario, published by RBA.

Teaching and knowledge-sharing are also a fundamental part of my practice. I direct the Master’s Degree in Food Design at Basque Culinary Center, a space where I explore and share new ways of understanding the relationship between food, design, culture and futures.
