Elis Jones is a composer whose musical compositions integrate emotional storytelling with lush sound worlds in a variety of genres, including concert pieces, film scores, and musical theater. She gets her creative impetus from her active involvement in ensembles—choirs, orchestras, and jazz bands—and the exploration of instruments that engage her compositional instincts, enabling her to write with greater empathy and nuance.

A Tampa FL USA native, Elis holds a Bachelor of Arts in Music with a minor in Speech and Theatre from the University of Tampa, where she pianistically studied with Grigorios Zamparas and was distinguished as a composer, arranger, pianist, and vocalist. She will soon complete her Master of Music in Composition at the University of South Florida in Spring 2025, where she studies with Justin Giarrusso.

Determined to craft excellent film scores and collaborative storytelling, Elis works to create memorable scores to enhance visual media and resonate with global audiences around the world. Her inspiration is drawn from both classics of the past and the power of narrative music. Beginning in the Fall of 2025, she will seek a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Composition at the Rudi E. Scheidt School of Music at the University of Memphis, where she hopes to further her study of a variety of musical styles and collaborative projects.
