Biography
I wish this section could be filled with loads of experiences but I'm afraid my journey in the arts just started while in lockdown (wow, seems like yesterday but it's been already two years!).
Here's a bit of my story:
I was born in South Spain, moved to Barcelona in 2009 to enroll in my art studies at Escola Joso. Back then, it was the only school I knew that taught drawing comics and cartoons. After I finished four years of "Art Grafic" (a course focused on illustration, narrative, and design for comics) I did an extra year of learning with Ulrich Schröder and Daan Jippes, in their "Disney Comic Course Egmont".
As you can sense so far, I was mostly drawing characters and building up narratives for comic books. But what I always wanted was to get into the animation industry, I just didn't know what steps to take that would lead me to that path.
After graduating I moved to London, moved back to South Spain, and back to Barcelona. During those years I never had the chance to work in the Arts (not as my main job) and, although I had kept active and creative —learning new skills like screen printing, curating & exhibition management, and a few languages— I felt I was getting lost, moving away from what I always dreamed of.
Moving forward to late 2020, I quit my regular job and decided to focus on my career, and I've been working as a freelance illustrator since. But, to be honest, I still find it very hard to get to know people in the animation industry and I'm not 100% sure of the next steps I should take.
That's why I think this could be a great opportunity for me, to learn and to meet people in the field, and I can't hide my excitement!
