Biography
I am Ed, a freelance illustrator from Baguio, a small mountain city in the northern part of the Philippines. I worked as an engineer for the most part of my professional career but I always loved to draw. I have always loved Magic: The Gathering since I started in 1998 when my mother captured some cards from her students in high school thinking they were gambling. Though I am not a good player, I was always fascinated by the art of MtG, not minding the rumors saying "when you rip them in half and wet them, the creatures will come to life to haunt you!"
But I had no idea there was such a career in art and though I wanted to pursue fine art in college, I enrolled in a "practical" course instead. I picked up a magazine years later called ImagineFX, the only copy in the entire bookstore hidden in a stack of magazines. There was a bigger world of art out there which I never imagined. My mind was blown to bits.
Fast forward a couple of years and I was still stuck in a corporate limbo. I decided to invest in my art while I was working and for the past 2 years have been studying relentlessly to improve my craft and create a portfolio which I hope can gain me entrance to the industry.
