Doh D Daiga, AKA Daimond D is a Line-Producer, writer, Cartoonist, animator (animated cartoon), graphic artist, Webmaster, trainer and teacher. With BSc in Film and TV Prod with associates in Illustration and animation, he has a rich experience in production and digital communication. Currently in charge of ICT at the School of Public Works of Ouagadougou (ESTPO). Owner and Creative Director of Kahti Communications. Doh is an active member of the Burkinabè Association de Cinema Animation (ABCA), Kino Cabaret Ouaga and Co-Founder of the Kahtoon. Panafricanist, Cameroonian-Burkinabe, lives in Burkina Faso, married with 3 kids. His goal is to write and line-produce animated movies with African content for a global market. His writing style is educative, adventure driven and africanly-universal. - Born in 1976 and grew up in Cameroon, Started drawinf comic books at age 9 during a summer holiday in his village with 6 crayons and a math exercise book . At 11 he decided to become an animator inspired by cartoons he watched on CRTV - Did his first caricature gig at the age of 16 and started freelancing as an illustrator for friends and family all the way to university. After 4 years as class delegate, he was unfortunately turned down from obtaining a degree in Geology at the University of Buea Cameroon. - He later travelled in 2001 to the USA started a major in computer programing at Strayer University but switched majors and schools 3 semesters later. - In 2002 got into Montgomery College – Rockville Maryland, where he majored in Illustration but by the end of the first semester, Doh’s drawing instructor noticed his love for animation and later intervened for him to be allowed to do a dual major. Doh thus graduated with honors in a dual associate of Illustration and Animation in 2006. - While at Montgomery College, in 2003 Doh obtained a Basic Art Certificate from Art Instruction Schools Minneapolis, MN. USA. He also interned at the American Film Institute (AFI-Silver) where he managed their web-blog for almost a year and later worked at Discovery Communications -Silver Spring’s copy center as a graphic artist and reprographist. - Doh then moved on to University of the District of Columbia (UDC) - Washingdon DC and obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Film and TV Production in 2008. After graduation he worked as a freelancer doing web design, photography, video, graphic design and also worked part time at Paris Design and Elliott enterprises. - He later got a full time job in 2009 at Allied Media Corp as a Creative Director assistant where they were sub contracted jobs by several government institutions including the US Army. During his stay there the most important contact was developing ethnic based visual content related to the US Census of 2010 including TV spots, graphics, web banners and other related visuals. - In 2010 Doh got admitted for an MFA in Sequential Arts at the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) which unfortunately for several personal and financial reasons, completed only one semester and had to return home to Africa. - While a student in the USA, Doh married Gisele, a Burkinabé so when they had to return to Africa, his choice was to Burkina Faso where he has since then mostly worked as a freelancer and a consultant. Training and design consultations in Niger and several local businesses, he also teaches Graphic design, desktop publishing and introductory computer science at several private universities and institutions. - In 2012 Doh became a member of Association Burkinabe de Cinema d’Animation (ABCA) where he line-produced his first animated short, a TV series pilote called AfroGames of which he is the author and financed by DANIDA.
