Biography

I always liked a good story. As a Game Artist, it is really important to me that the assets I create, help to tell their stories.

Reading books I felt the urge to change the written story. I always thought when someone could create something like a movie but with a storyline controlled by the player, that would be the most entertaining creation ever made. Growing up I realised I am not the only one thinking this way.

Today story based games are my passion, playing games like Life is Strange or Heavy Rain, feel like playing a Book you'd normally read. An experience on an entirely different level though. But also giving the Player the possibility to create their own story, like its done in Minecraft or Sims is something unique found in games. To make these visions come alive, it takes believable environment art for the player to walk through to support the story. I've been working on 3 shipped story driven games, and the most important thing to me is to make my art match the story and give hints beyond the main story line. Most successful I feel I have done that with the Project named "Agent Alice" where I was responsible to create the Map Art, the Player would choose their level for. This art I created entirely from scratch with the help of the text of story writers to support and hint future events in the Story.

So far I've been working in small teams where each team member had to search proactively and fullfill meaningfull tasks. After my work at Wooga I go the opportunity to explore more facettes of 3D, so I took off to learn more techniques in how to create quick concept art, improve lighting, and more realistic game art assets, props and vegetation in Substance Designer Painter and Zbrush. My current favourite 3D software is Modo, but as I already learned all in all 5 3D Softwares I adapted to use Maya Navigation (as every 3D tool has it implemented) so I can switch to and use any of them without relearning the basic. If possible I would like to grow further and beyond with your company, helping you to make your games as amazing as they are and further evolve them over time as we are growing. Feel free to chat with me at THU :)

See you around.
