With many years of experience in the entertainment design industry, Cynthia Ignacio began her career with Walt Disney Feature Animation, where she had the honor of working on several iconic films. She started primarily as a background/environment designer, but whenever her team needs more guidance, she is often asked to take a lead/supervisor or art director role. She constantly explores as many artistic avenues as possible, so unsurprisingly, as an extension of her various duties, she has also storyboarded, costume-designed, and drawn/color-styled orthographic views of sets and props. Her skillset ranges across theme park projects, feature and television animation, live action, and theatre. Cynthia enjoys the challenge of Science-Fiction/Action-Adventure environment design of an extremely architectural and technical nature, but she easily adapts to cartoony and/or fantasy styles across a wide range of major intellectual properties. This is reflected in her substantial list of clients, brands, and projects: Walt Disney Imagineering, Universal Studios, Sony Studios, Paramount Theme Parks, Warner Bros, Blizzard, Dreamworks, Nickelodeon, Cartoon Network, Marvel, HMS Queen Mary, and many others. She has worked on several THEA award-winning projects, including California Adventure's "Disney Animation" attraction, and the Universal Orlando "Men in Black" theme park ride. Cynthia recently art directed theme park projects built in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, for which she oversaw retail spaces, restaurants, area development, building facades, attraction showsets, ride vehicles, and preshows. Cynthia always makes teamwork and good communication a priority with every collaboration. Problem-solving is key to any situation.
