Biography

Hello! My name is Christian Robles. I am a MSc. Computer Science, Multimedia and Creative Technologies student at USC, expecting to graduate in May 2023. Prior to my current studies, I worked as a Software Engineer II with Microsoft from July 2017 - July 2021, and before that I completed my BSc. Computer Science at Arizona State University in May 2017. In addition to my work or studies, I enjoy completing projects in Graphics and Multimedia. Writeups for many of these projects are available on my blog: https://blog.roblesch.page/. My projects span from recreating effects from some of my favorite music videos (https://blog.roblesch.page/2020/05/17/style-transfer.html), to more recent work implementing demonstrations of techniques from Eric Veach’s 1997 thesis Robust Monte Carlo Methods for Light Transport Simulation (https://blog.roblesch.page/2022/02/08/multiple-importance.html). I have particularly enjoyed studying ray & path tracers and most of my recent work centers on this subject, but I am highly motivated by many problems involving geometry and linear algebra. Outside of work I am passionate about hiking, bouldering and sport climbing.
