I'm an American expat (immigrant) living in Finland. I've been drawn to the creative my whole life and have enjoyed working with my hands, mind, and creativity in many different phases of my life. I've been a cook and a carpenter, and even built wooden boats for a number of years. I doodled quite a lot in my early years, but soon ended up leaving it for more "grownup" pursuits. These days, in my late 40's, I'm juggling running a marketing and publishing company with trying to bootstrap the art education that I wish I had gotten when I was younger. I started by animating book cover art in After Effects and when I found that I'd like to step outside "2.5D" in favor of true 3D I found myself making donuts and rockets (and donut powered rockets) in Blender. I'm hoping that in a few years I'll have progressed enough to get into an art school that will help me flesh out my digital art abilities with a solid traditional art base. I try to approach art with an open mind and an intact sense of childlike wonder, and I have no doubt that when I end up being a 50-something freshman in art school I'll still be carrying that along for the ride.
