Chara Ho is a photographer, filmmaker, digital artist, and creative entrepreneur whose work explores family, identity, belonging through a diasporic Asian Canadian lens. Chara was selected as a Mentee in Soho House Toronto’s 2023 Creative Futures Collective, as well as a 2021-22 Canon Futures Creator, one of 20 creators selected from hundreds across Canada by Canon to participate in their first creative incubator for young storytellers. After a year of mentorship from industry leaders, her work was featured in an exhibition commissioned by Canon.

Currently, she is the President and co-founder of Zesty Nobody, a women-led Asian Canadian production company based in Toronto dedicated to impactful and innovative storytelling, championing the unique diasporic perspectives and lived experiences of underrepresented voices. She is currently working towards a portfolio of writing-directing narrative films, music videos, and interactive/immersive experiences.

As a filmmaker, photographer, and designer, she has worked with clients such as Warner Brothers Discovery Access, Canon, Soho House Toronto, Cadillac Fairview, MLSE (incl. The Toronto Raptor, Maple Leafs, TFC), and the Academy of Canadian Cinema & Television. 

For numerous years, she has also accumulated years of experience on sets as a stills photographer, technical producer, and as a production coordinator in the film and television industry.

In 2020, Chara graduated  from the Toronto Metropolitan University’s Media Production program. She is also a classically trained musician who completed the ARCT Diploma from the Royal Conservatory of Music in Piano Performance.
