Biography
I've always loved games and the idea of being someone that CREATED them was a dream to me. Since I was little, I'd conjure up random ideas for games and try to hash them out with myself by putting it on writing, mostly leading to probably impossible and completely unviable concepts. But, oh well, you gotta start somewhere, right? My juvenile passion only grew with age, leading me to actively seek out ways to study and learn how to become a game developer. At the time I thought I wanted to be a game designer (since I was pretty much scared of programming) and so I watched hours of game design videos (from the likes of Extra Credits, Design Doc and Mark Brown) and read articles and forums about it. When the time came for me to choose which graduation course I'd enroll into, I wound up going for Computer Science, figuring I'd have to learn how to actually code my games, since I didn't know anyone who knew how to do it. On the start of my second year I got into RPG - Rio PUC Games (currently called Prisma Game Lab), a game development team os my university's students. I got in as a game designer, but eventually asked to start working as a game programmer. It was then that I found out my true path in the games industry, since I got so enamored with programming for games! I wound up participating in 4 bigger projects: 2 as a game designer and 2 as a programmer, along with many game jams. Eventually I got the opportunity to work as a QA analyst intern at Gazeus games alongside with RPG - Rio PUC Games. Because I was leading my team of programmers over at RPG and I had access to veteran professional game developers at Gazeus that would always help me with my doubts and by giving general advice, my programming knowledge starting growing a lot faster, even more so when I asked to become an Unity Dev Intern at Gazeus. Sadly, working at a professional studio, studying for my classes and working at RPG wasn't sustainable time-wise, I quit RPG and I got hired full time as a Junior Game Developer at Gazeus, which let me start learning some more advanced programming things. After 6 months I felt I was stagnating my professional growth at the company, so I decided to start applying for other jobs, and that's when I landed my current position at Tapps Games! At Tapps I started gaining so much more independence and responsability as a developer, which let me grow a lot more than I had before, and that's where I am right now. Even though I'm very happy at Tapps, I dream and am always on the look out for one day working for either a larger, preferably international, company or one that develops more complex PC or console games!
