I am Benjamin M. Marasigan Jr., a Fulltime Instructor and the founding Chairperson of the Animation Program of the School of Design and Arts, De La Salle-College of St. Benilde, from 2007 to 2018. I have been teaching in Benilde since 2001. My career in animation started in 1992 at Filcartoons Inc., a subsidiary of Hanna-Barbera Studio in the Philippines. I started out as an inbetweener and later became a 2D animator. I animated on shows like The Flintstones, Powerpuff Girls, Dexter’s Lab, Jonny Quest, Captain Planet, Young Tom and Jerry. I also did freelance work for Toon City Animation where I worked on TV shows like Lilo and Stitch, The Emperor’s New School, and Curious George. I was the President of the Animation Council of the Philippines Inc. (ACPI) from 2013 to 2015 and was part of its Board of Directors from 2006 to 2018. In Benilde, I headed the Toonbro production of “Frere: De La Salle, Patron Saint of Teachers,” (2013) a 46 minute an animated movie on the life of St. John Baptist De La Salle and “The Little One,” the life of St. Benilde Romancon (2015), a 15 minute animated shorts. I also attended numerous international events in countries like France, Italy, Hong Kong, South Korea, Canada, USA, Singapore, Spain, Malaysia, Japan, and Thailand. At present, I am teaching courses on Animation Principles, Character Design, 2D Tradigital Animation, and Cut Out Animation.
