Biography
Welcome!
Like my intro says, my plunge into art and animation is a fairly recent endeavor, but since I was a child I was always fascinated with the world of animation. A serial doodler who covered his notebooks in drawings than actual notes, I would come to love creating characters and creatures in my spare time. I was never really formally trained in art techniques, learning what I know today from the world's most popular form of informal education, YouTube.
Professionally, my career path thus far has been in the environmental sciences. Having been a tree planter and ecologist with a conservation service for six years, and a wildlife rehabilitator for one. Those fast paced, high activity jobs with strict schedules and deadlines did wonders for my soft skills, and I was able to be a confident team leader who got the job done and always thought outside the box to solve problems.
Working in the environmental field being so close to nature really inspired my creative endeavors as well. The stories I seek to tell, the settings, characters and creatures I imagine typically have prevailing themes of nature and environmentalism. A large goal of mine with my current and future work is to translate not only my previous experiences, but the environmentalist messages I advocate for. Fantasy is another massive inspiration for what I create. I often get lost in the lore of a good novel, and, like many in recent times, have used Dungeons and Dragons as a source of inspiration for a lot of my work.
My dive into the animation industry as a career, is admittedly, very new. Art and creation has been a large part of my life thus far, but I'm only now beginning to realize my childhood dream and make it a long term career goal in my life. My first step? College. I've recently been enrolled in Seneca College's Animation Program, with the start date of September 2022. I hope that here my skills, contacts, and industry knowledge will only skyrocket, and I'm incredibly excited for what my creative future has in store for me!
