Biography
A sentence from an animation webinar that has really stuck with me is ‘Every artist in animation is a story artist.’ As a 3D artist, I strive to incorporate this sentiment into all my work. I love thinking about the stories behind objects and how they contribute to the content they are a part of.
I started my animation journey working as a background artist for 2D animation and the part I enjoyed most was adding the minute details to props that people notice only on a second viewing. The reason I gravitated towards 3D texturing is because it’s the perfect combination of technical and artistic that plays to my strengths. I have a background in traditional art and my initial forays into texturing involved working with solely hand-painted content. Even though I work more procedurally now, my traditional background helps me to focus on small details and add more life to my textures.
I have worked in several student productions during my time at SCAD and an aspect of my personality that has helped me at in these projects and at my previous professional roles back in India is that I am a good listener and always take the time to understand the needs of a project or an individual. I am adept at solving problems and think quickly on my feet. I also learn a lot from the people around me and am good at taking and applying feedback.
I love working in collaborative teams and apart from my tehnical skills, I am also adept at finding solutions to problems and will always put in my best efforts to get a project to the highest level it can be at!
