My passion for the arts and stories began when I was a child growing up in Taiwan; I would gush with friends about after school anime programs or scower the library for stray artbooks and manga. It wasn't long before I started drawing weird creatures and comic strips for myself, a practice that would carry on to the present that I wish to continue to improve on. I am currently a fourth year Boston University student majoring in painting and minoring in computer science, and will be graduating in May 2022. Additionally, I had taken extracurricular classes from Concept Design Academy, manga creators, and other online art courses to further my skills character design and illustration. In the past four years, I have completed an assortment of projects, ranging from drawing short comics, creating game graphics, illustrating for exhibition works. In the Summer of 2020, I created a short five episode webtoon called Finding Maisie with a friend for the 2020 Webtoon Short Story contest, fully involved with the entire process from design, to drafting thumbnails, to illustration. Finding Maisie had the fortune to be among the works under honorable mention. In February 2021, I had the opportunity to collaborate with artist Karena Chou and animate for her song Love Letter. Over two weeks, I completed a nearly four minute animated video that visualizes the lyrics as well as Karena's own experiences. I am currently working on a personal story project about a pair of magical twins struggling with both fantastical and mundane tasks. Through world building and character development, I wish to establish a world of wonder filled with my experiences of Taiwanese culture. I constantly wish to absorb and share the excitements in life that surround us, such as my other hobbies of reading manga, playing RPG games, or heading out to play basketball and volleyball. As someone who was encouraged to try many new things by art, I wish to also make art that inspires people.
