Biography
Agola Simon is a Ugandan sound-for-film professional, filmmaker, and creative director with
over six years of experience across production
sound, audio post-production and creative &
performing arts. A graduate of Drama and Film from
Makerere University, he works as a Production
Sound Mixer, Sound Effects Editor, Dialogue Editor,
and Sound Designer on Films, series, documentaries,
live productions and any other audio and audio-visual
content.
His work has screened on major platforms including
Netflix, Showmax, Amazon Prime, and Multichoice
channels, as well as on Youtube and in local cinemas
across the continet. Simon has collaborated on both
local and international productions, contributing to
projects that prioritize strong storytelling and
technical excellence.
He is also a Co-founder and Director at One Story
House, a creative production company focused on
developing impactful African narratives and building
collaborative filmmaking ecosystems across the
continent.
An alumnus of Makerere University, the Multichoice
Talent Factory East African Academy, and the QuadA Academy, Simon’s practice has been shaped
through formal training, mentorship from industry
professionals, and extensive hands-on experience.
Across the years, his work has earned industry
recognition, including multiple refferals, internationl
collaborations and nominations at the Uganda Film
Festival Awards and the IKON Awards, underscoring
his commitment to elevating African cinema through
sound and storytelling.
