I was born and raised in Berkeley, CA where I took independent cartooning and illustration classes through childhood and attended CCA’s pre college program.While studying liberal arts in New York, I continued my practice by attending classes at the Art Students league and Pratt. After graduate school in England, I moved to New Hampshire in order to train under Paul Ingbretson, and a mentorship with Greg Manchess before attending the IMC (Illustration Master Class) in 2018 and 2019. I began studying digital art at Syn Studio in Montreal and continued my traditional work on drawing, perspective, and anatomy at be Atelier de Bresoles. After attending a workshop offered by the Cape Anne landscape painter Stapleton Kearns, I developed my plein air practice with an emphasis on urban nightscapes. I focused on this work during the onset of the pandemic, and embarked on a series of fine arts and illustration online mentorships, studying with Jon Foster, Ray Bonilla, Brad Kunkle, Martin Whitfooth, Zhao Ming Wu, Victor Wang, and intensive portrait work offered by Gregory Manchess. I’m currently working freelance and continuously building my portfolio and refining my fundamentals emphasizing anatomy, color theory, and the slow and steady immediacy of alla prima work.
