Concept artist and Illustrator

Spain

Director

Hi! I am Adonaí :) I'm a Spanish artist who loves videogames, films and illustrated books. Currently working as an art director at MELT games.

Biography

Hi! I’m Adonaí, a Spanish artist currently based in Valencia. I love video games, films, illustrated books, and pretty much anything that uses art to tell a good story.

I’m currently working as an Art Director at MELT Games, a tiny team making weird, fun friendslop games. Before that, I spent four and a half years at MercurySteam working on two AAA projects: the recently announced Metroid Ravenous, published by Nintendo, and Blades of Fire, published by 505 Games.

My background is mainly in concept art and visual development. I’ve mostly worked on environments, but over the years I’ve had the chance to design a bit of everything — props, characters, VFX concepts, illustrations, and whatever else the project needed.

What I enjoy most about being an artist is storytelling and worldbuilding. I’d love to keep exploring that beyond games too, especially through illustration, editorial work, board games, card games, and hopefully one day creating my own illustrated book.

I’m coming to THU to meet other artists, make friends, learn, and see what opportunities might come out of it. I’m currently working, but I’m very open to new job opportunities, freelance work, collaborations, or just meeting interesting people to create cool things with.

So if you think we could work together — or just want to talk about art, games, films or books — come say hi!

Work Experience

2026 – 2026

Director - Art Director (Full Time)

MELT games (Remote)

I initially joined MELT Games as a freelance Concept Artist. After a couple of months working together, they were happy with my work and offered me a full-time position as Art Director, giving me a more active role in the development of the game and responsibility for its overall visual direction.

Being part of a small team also means staying very hands-on. Alongside concept art, I work on 3D modeling, UI, and even jump into Unreal Engine when needed, contributing wherever I can to bring the game's visuals to life.

2026 – 2026

Senior - 2D Concept Artist (Freelance)

MELT games (Remote)

I was hired as a freelance senior concept artist to define the art style for an upcoming proyect with MELT games , still to be announced.

2021 – 2026

Intermediate - 2D Concept Artist (Full Time)

MercurySteam (Madrid)

I worked for two years in Blades of Fire, released in 2025 with 505 games, and for two and a half years in Metroid Ravenous, to be released with Nintendo in January 2027.

I’ve mostly worked on environments, but over the years I’ve had the chance to design a bit of everything — props, characters, VFX concepts, illustrations, UI and whatever else the project needed.
