From Game Jam to Market
In this talk, I’ll share a personal and practical look at the path from joining a game jam to working on a game that is actually moving toward release.
I’ll talk about how game jams can become much more than a weekend experiment. They can help you find collaborators, test ideas quickly, learn how to finish things, and sometimes even become the first spark of a much bigger project.
One of the examples I’ll bring is IRONHIVE, a project that started during a game jam and later grew into a full game with a publisher, now on its way to being released. Through that story, I want to show both the exciting parts and the difficult parts of turning a small prototype into something real: scope, production, pitching, feedback, partnerships, and the many decisions that happen between “we made a cool jam game” and “this can actually become a commercial release.”
The goal is to have an honest conversation with people who are starting out or trying to take their next step in games, sharing lessons, mistakes, and possible paths into the industry.
