Project Description

MOF, is a short film animation, approximately 8 min., created in Unreal Game Engine w/ custom music inspired by Korean folk songs & instrumentals, spoken in Korean but of different dialects based on North & South regions. The bit of English in the film is a moment inspired by the tragedy that occured in Atlanta, Georgia March 6th 2021, where 6 Asian women were murdered senselessly by a white gunman. She is a fictional Korean female shaman spirit both gifted & cursed with the ability to take on the identity and memories of female spirits who are without a home –a final resting place. She is a manifestation of the women who were raped and murdered during the wars, the comfort women who were forgotten, the foreigners who came to America in hopes of a better life but killed because of the way they looked and fetishized. She is a character who struggles with her identity because she has no one identity. She is an embodiment of the paint and suffering women have endured for centuries. She is lost and confused, desperately searching for who she is.
