Project Description
A new way to explore the world! Nova Atlantis's project is a new explorer kit for XXI century adventurers. It’s an app allocated in a website, which works based on real GPS coordinates, where the user earns knowlege(1) and rewards (2) as he explores the real world. Starting with a blank screen on the app/website, as the user progresses in the real world, imaginary will be unveiled: 1) Culture, local knowledge, new indications/trails, events, history, legends or supernatural of the place where the user is. 2) The % of unveiled map will be ranked and the user will have a choice to save the progress or icons of the places he/she went for printing on t-shirts, mugs, etc. E.g. An user visits azores with the app while travelling, gets the personnal traveler map and prints on a t-shirt or a 3D model as a souvenir. As we are both azoreans, we lived in an environment of exploration and discoveries, and with our special "appetite" for legends and mystics, we came up with the idea of fusing exploration with information. Side by side with nature and civilization. By using an app that only requires GPS coordinations to work properly, the user can just walk around without the need to look at it everytime and see after a walk or even at the end of the visit what he discovered. Note: App and Website will be presented as mockups.
