Game Designer
Description
At BANDAI NAMCO Mobile we believe that design decisions are made as a group effort. Everyone in the team is responsible for delivering the best possible experience. So, whether you're an artist, programmer or community manager, you can contribute to the design.
While decisions are made like this, it is still important to have someone who can lead and drive the overall vision and makes sure that every system in the game is tuned and plays well. This person is the go-to whenever there is a question about a new feature, existing design or an event going on in the game.
In this role, you will be working as a Design generalist. With the wider Design team, you will be responsible for all aspects of game design. Gameplay, Mechanics, Balancing, Systems, Monetisation, UX and more. At BANDAI NAMCO Mobile, we do not want to pigeonhole you into an area, but rather allow you to choose how you would be the most effective across our Development team. Fostering a truly creative environment is what makes us different and this is how we are going to develop the best games on the market.
As we are in the early stages of development currently, your ability to prototype and iterate with the rest of the development team is paramount. With this, you must be able to look at your ideas from an outside perspective, critic and kill the project if necessary.
Requirements
- Strong experience in game design/systems and balancing game economies.
- Strong knowledge of the entire game design process
- Extensive ideas of new game prototypes, creating and facilitations in group ideation sessions
- Strong & concise communicator of game concepts
- Hunger and passion for making and playing games; being curious and thinking critically about why games succeed and fail
- Able to effectively communicate your ideas to the wider team through many mediums.
- Able to critique ideas or designs from the team, whilst reflective enough to take on feedback yourself.
- Programming skills (C#, Unity) are a welcome addition, but not necessary for the role.
