We are posting this opportunity on behalf of an experienced independent creative currently developing several animation projects - a mix of original concepts and work commissioned by established studios. At this stage of the development cycle, they are looking to bring in a visual development artist who can help with everything from early character design to full page images to help define the tone and look of the picture.

While the studio cannot be disclosed at this stage, the hiring decision is being driven directly by the project lead, Kyle Balda, who will also review selected portfolios.

The visual tone across the most active projects is best described as "scary cute". Artists familiar with Laika Studios' style will find this a natural fit (Coraline, ParaNorman, Kubo and the Two Strings).
