Filipe Teixeira | Production Manager

Meet Filipe Teixeira, Production Manager on TAOS, exploring a more production-focused side of the creative process. With art woven into his life since childhood, he’s found a way to turn that passion into a career, even through its unpredictable moments.

Why did you join TAOS? What do you hope to get out of it?

Wanted to dip in in more production-oriented roles :)

What first inspired you to pursue art, and how has that inspiration evolved over time?

I've always done art in one way or another, but it kind of jumped an octave after - at 11 years old - having a very cool dream and waking up to the "Signs of Life" by Pink Floyd.

In fair honesty, it bled into all aspects of my life, and everything I am and do, stems from that specific day!

What has been your biggest achievement so far as an artist?

Being able to do it as a career... Even in these most unpredictable times.

Maria Gorbacheva | Art Director

Meet Maria Gorbacheva, Art Director on TAOS, inspired by stories that resonate and worlds that leave a lasting impression. Passionate about bringing imagination to life through meaningful visuals, she joined the project to help shape a story she believes deserves to be told alongside a talented creative community.

Why did you join TAOS? What do you hope to get out of it?I've seen the first animation and it was incredibly inspiring. When I've read Lavina's story, a story so resonating with everyting happening in creative industry right now, I knew it's going to be worthy, and I want help creating this story and make it the best.

What first inspired you to pursue art, and how has that inspiration evolved over time?I wanted to create worlds. At school, I actually loved writing more than drawing. But during university, that passion gradually shifted towards art -- I wanted to visualise imaginable and unimaginable worlds and stories. I worked on games, TV series and films, but animation turned out to be the embodiment of everything I love. Its visuals speak, its stories feel deep, and its worlds and characters feel truly alive. I love bringing both my own and others’ imagination to life and helping make visuals more emotional, immersive and meaningful. Because of this I never really framed myself with 'styles' and studied with interest character concepts, environmnets, color scripts, storyboards, illustrations, mangas, movies, games and all kind of tools to tell the story - and now this's why I'm so interested in art directioning. You can do much more when you have skilled people in your team

What has been your biggest achievement so far as an artist?Well, I have several AA games and movies, and games where quite praised for the visuals .. but for me, my greatest achievement is that even now, I’m still creating. I still draw, and I’ve even started writing again. I’m an artist not because I'm paid to draw, but because I’m able to spend my life doing what I truly love. That's good.

Rebekah Hartwig | Creative Producer

A bit more about Rebekah Hartwig, producer on the TAOS project, passionate about the technical side of art and inspired by the collaborative spirit of the creative community.

Why did you join TAOS? What do you hope to get out of it?I joined TAOS to get more involved in the artist and animation community. I love how the production model is open and how anyone can come in and see the process. I've also gotten to meet amazing people around the world, which has been so fun. I hope to develop my skills as a producer through this experience!

What first inspired you to pursue art, and how has that inspiration evolved over time?I've loved art ever since I could hold a pencil! The aspect of art I have loved the most was actually the technical part. I got inspired by others' artistic skills and their techniques and that caused me to want to develop my own craftsmanship. I believe in the statement, "You need to know the rules in order to break them". I value the learning of the basics and principles of art and that is what I have found the most joy in!

Now that I'm post grad and in the workforce, I actually find inspiration from anyone who is taking the time to pursue art. That's why I value the art community because just by hearing and talking to others about art gets me excited to create!

What has been your biggest achievement so far as an artist? As someone who recently graduated, I look back at all of the things I did in school and I just think, "Wow, I did that!" I learned how to animate in Maya and Unreal Engine, composite in Nuke, develop my skills in the fine arts, produce a student film and create a portfolio/demo reel that I was proud of (still am!) when graduating! I know my journey isn't over. Art’s one of those things you get better at by living life and soaking in experiences and I think that's the beauty of it.

I'm excited to see what the future as for me regarding my artistic voice and techniques!

Inês Coimbra | Producer/3D Artist

Get to know Ines Coimbra a little better, producer and 3D animator on TAOS, who returns after Everlasting (2024) to keep building with the THU community while growing her path in Production and 3D.

Why did you join TAOS? What do you hope to get out of it?After the success of Everlasting in 2024, I felt inspired and excited to contribute again to the THU community. TAOS feels like the perfect second chance to give back to the community where I grew up in, and to use my skills to make a meaningful impact in the creative world.

I’m eager to collaborate with an even bigger and passionate team, and to continue growing my experience in Production and 3D - an opportunity I know will enrich me both professionally and personally.

What first inspired you to pursue art, and how has that inspiration evolved over time?I was first inspired to pursue art as a child, watching Disney movies and dreaming of becoming an artist one day. Art has always been a central part of my life, and that passion led me to go into art school at 15. After starting school, I came across Trojan Horse was a Unicorn, and joined this incredible community at the age of 16! This community has truly shaped my life, providing me with immense support, inspiration, and opportunities that I am deeply grateful for. Following high school, I pursued university studies in the UK, a step that was both challenging and enriching.

Over the past five years, I have been working in the industry, initially as a 3D Artist specializing in Animation and VFX. Two years ago, I expanded my horizons, and accepted the challenge of being the Producer on Everlasting. Ever since then, I have been able to split my time between 3D and Production work, which allows me to balance my creative side with my strategic and organizational skills.

What has been your biggest achievement so far as an artist? My proudest achievement as an artist is in the relationships I’ve been able to build, and the work I’ve had the privilege of creating alongside an amazing group of companies.

From Nintendo, Ritzy Animation, Platige Image, and DAMN Visdev, I am deeply grateful for every single opportunity I’ve been given and for the experiences that have shaped my growth as a creative professional and individual. I am equally proud of my contributions towards THU - from supporting the Sony Talent League as a Tribe Mentor, to serving as a Project Advisor, and working as a Producer on Everlasting and TAOS.

Being able to contribute to the teams and communities that have helped me grow, means the world to me, and I approach every single opportunity with gratitude and care.

Luna McKee | Assistant Director

Get to know more about Luna McKee, Assistant Director on TAOS, inspired by storytelling and shaped by a lifelong love for film, from early Garfield drawings to the worlds of Jurassic Park and beyond. Driven by collaboration and community, she brings a passion for building meaningful creative experiences, and believes the real win is creating something special together.

Why did you join TAOS? What do you hope to get out of it?I joined TAOS because I thought that the story was super compelling and I also was super stoked about the community and being able to collaborate with other artists in a meaningful and open way! Community rules!

What first inspired you to pursue art, and how has that inspiration evolved over time?I was very first inspired to do art by my dad who taught me to draw Garfield comics when I was a kid, and he introduced me to early film inspirations in Spielberg movies like Jurassic Park, Indiana Jones, Alien, etc.. Over time that's definitely evolved in the different movies, games, etc. that I have come to love and be inspired by, but nowadays find a lot of my inspiration in real life through deep-diving science and history (it's so much fun)!

What has been your biggest achievement so far as an artist?I think so far my biggest achievement as an artist was making and directing a short film with some of my best friends in the world. To me, it taught me how good and meaningful a production team can feel when everyone is driven to push each other to become better artists and professionals while making something really cool together. We won a student Emmy recently, but it already felt like we won by having made something together.
