Who am I?

My name is Jaime Maestro. I am an Animation Director and the Founder of La Tribu Animation. With a career spanning nearly 30 years, I have transitioned from being hands-on in the trenches of animation to directing award-winning projects and building a world-class studio from the ground up. My focus has always been twofold: pushing the boundaries of visual excellence and fostering the next generation of digital artists.

What does a mentoring session look like?

In these sessions, I offer a high-level perspective on both the artistic and executive sides of the industry. We can tailor our time to focus on:

• Creative Direction: Analyzing your project’s visual language, acting, and storytelling to ensure it resonates with a global audience.

• Studio Founding & Management: Insights into how to start, grow, and maintain an animation studio (like La Tribu), focusing on culture, talent acquisition, and sustainability.

• Project Pitching & Development: How to take a creative spark and turn it into a professional production package that attracts investors and partners.

• The Transition to Leadership: Moving from a specialist role to a Director or Lead position—managing teams and maintaining a cohesive vision.

• Industry Reality Check: Honest feedback on your portfolio, reel, or business plan based on 30 years of "real world" experience.

How to prepare for the session?

Please provide any relevant links to your portfolio, current WIPs, or pitch decks at least a week in advance. Whether you have a technical hurdle or a strategic business question about the industry, the more context you provide, the deeper we can go.

One Session or Multiple?

I am available for one-off consultations to solve specific roadblocks or provide a professional "gut check" on your work. However, if you are looking for long-term mentorship regarding studio growth or feature film development, we can establish a recurring schedule.
