Apollo 13: Survival
Revenant had an out-of-this-world opportunity to provide a VFX package for 'Apollo Thirteen: Survival', a gripping documentary on the historic space shuttle mission for Netflix. The project was a rewarding collaboration between Revenant and Insight Film.

Revenant worked in close collaboration with Insight to provide a historically accurate visual package to help illustrate the story, including CG animation, high level compositing and FX.
The film is a time capsule of rare audio and visuals from the shuttle, NASA’s control center, and the astronauts’ families. Our team worked to enrich this archival atmosphere and aid the storytelling in a historically accurate way with a blend of era-specific visuals and crisp, clean shape language. For example, delightfully grainy infographics reference those used at the time, and image transition shots move in the style of a 1970’s carousel slide projector. The result is a seamless combination of the extraordinary archival NASA footage with our veracious and authentic visuals package.
