Crossroads Digital Multimedia
Crossroads Digital Multimedia is an Award-winning Ugandan animation studio which was incorporated in 2011 with a vision to tell African stories, provide more diversity in animated content through skills development, and create jobs for the youth and marginalised people.
Its current portfolio includes animated short films, educational content, sensitization content, television commercials and awareness content.
Our vision: To tell inspiring African stories through animation.
Our Mission: To develop an artistic team and tell fun African stories using animation sustainably.
Achievement
- Conducting the first National Computer Animation Bootcamp in Uganda in 2024
- Patterned up with Makerere University to manage and instruct animation courses
- Featured on CNN TV Network, African voice changer in the African Animation industry.
- Producing the first children's series in Uganda, titled Mukago series (production in progress).
- Winner of the Afrique Creative Accelerations Fund 2019, funded by AFD and implemented by IP Investment management.
- Winner of USADF, USAID & CITI Foundation entrepreneurship Grant 2020.
- Having 50% women working on the Mukago Series.
- Having trained three deaf animators and one worked on the Mukago children's series
- We have provided training to more than 100 artists
- Training 4hearing-impaired animators, two of whom worked on the MUKAGO series.
- Nominated over and won 8 awards.
- Patterned with the Ministry of ICT through the National ICT HUB

Trojan Horse Was a Unicorn (THU)
Crossroads and Trojan Horse Was a Unicorn (THU) have been joining forces since 2019. This year, we are leveling up this partnership, turning it into a creative transformative journey.
This collaboration is an apprenticeship-style project production, offering a hands-on approach that allows students, aspiring artists, and creators to enhance their skills and expertise while working on a pilot-episode series. Through this approach, participants can experience personal growth and development, while aspiring to commercial viability, thus contributing to the sustainability of the digital entertainment industry in Uganda.

Makerere University ,Uganda
Crossroads and Makerere University forged a partnership in 2022, formalised through a five-year Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), aimed at the development and provision of 3D computer animation and multimedia courses. Emphasising project-based learning, these courses equip students with practical, hands-on skills key to success in the digital entertainment industry.
This collaboration between Crossroads and Makerere University holds significant importance for students, providing them with access to global exposure and skill development opportunities through pilot projects. The partnership serves as a bridge between academia and industry, offering students invaluable insights and experiences to complement their studies.

The National ICT Innovation HUB, Under the Ministry of ICT and National Guidance Uganda
Crossroads has established a strategic partnership with the National ICT Innovation Hub, operating under the Ministry of ICT and National Guidance in Uganda. This collaboration grants Crossroads access to a wide array of crucial resources and support services. These include mentorship in entrepreneurship, access to workshop facilities, internship training spaces, and participation in networking platforms such as exhibitions, connecting stakeholders both within and beyond the Hub.
Through this alliance with the National ICT Innovation Hub, Crossroads aims to leverage its expertise and resources to bolster its initiatives. Furthermore, this partnership underscores Crossroads' commitment to playing a pivotal role in fostering the growth and development of the digital creative ecosystem within Uganda.
