DESCRIPTION:Hello tribe! I am Gabriel\, a former concept artist who later f
ound his passion in a video game job he didn’t know existed. I want to t
ell you what it is and how it might become your dream job too.\n\nIn this
talk we'll take a very brief mention over my “late” career start as a
concept artist in the videogame industry and how I realised that it wasn
’t my dream job after all. We'll then look at the art jobs that the vide
ogame industry needs but can’t find because there aren’t enough artist
s doing them. \n\nThis will be the focus of this talk\, specifically aroun
d UI and VFX for videogames and what UI and VFX artists actually do. We'll
talk how much the industry is desperate for more of these artists and how
a lot of people aren’t even aware (like I wasn’t) of what these jobs
consist of and how artistic they truly are. I’ll also help you find the
resources you need to give these fascinating jobs a try if you are interes
ted. \n\nThis talk is aimed particularly at those who do 2D art and animat
ion\, who want to work in video games and are frustrated at the lack of op
portunities. But it will also be interesting to anyone who wants to do art
in the videogame industry and is open to try a new challenge. \n\nYour dr
eam job might be waiting for you. You just don’t know it exists.
