José Alves da Silva is a 3D character artist and illustrator. He has a degree in Architecture. Since 2009, after winning CGSociety's XXIV Challenge First Prize Master Award, he has been exclusively dedicated to Characters.

His work and tutorials have been featured in many books and magazines, such as Exposé, Exótique, Digital Art Masters, 3DArtist, 3DWorld, ImagineFX, etc.

In the last 12 years he has been dedicated to sculpting collectible figures and is currently working as lead sculptor at McFarlane Toys.
